Celebrating Our Inaugural Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees
The Chesapeake Bay Governors’ School (CBGS) Education Foundation will be hosting the school’s first Alumni Hall of Fame Induction on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Linden Manor, just north of Tappahannock, Virginia.
Since 1998, CBGS has served high-ability and gifted 10th through 12th grade students from 14 school divisions in the Northern Neck and the Middle Peninsula region. Students who attend CBGS engage with a rigorous curriculum integrating science, technology, math, and research. While at CBGS, students can earn over 50 college credits through Rappahannock Community College (RCC).
The CBGS Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the school through fundraising for senior scholarships, student fee waivers, and student research grants.
This November, the CBGS Education Foundation will be inducting 7 remarkable alumni into its inaugural Alumni Hall of Fame class. Inductees were nominated as honorees by the CBGS community and selected as recipients by the CBGS Education Foundation Board. The inaugural class includes alumni across CBGS’s lifespan, from one of the very first graduates of the program to recognizing the Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD Award). These inductees represent a wide variety of paths CBGS students take after their time with the school, each and every one being a dedicated community member and leader within their respective industry.

We’d also like to recognize our 2026 GOLD (Graduate of the Last Decade) Award recipient, honoring an outstanding alumnus/alumna who graduated within the past ten years:
Hunter Goodman
Class of 2018, King William County
Hunter Goodman is a General Engineering graduate of James Madison University and currently serves as Assistant Resident Engineer for VDOT’s Northern Neck Residency, overseeing a $10 million budget for transportation maintenance and safety projects.
Throughout his career, Hunter has demonstrated a strong commitment to engineering, leadership, public service, and community impact, including his work with fellow JMU students and Trout Unlimited to design and construct a stream restoration project that earned multiple awards at JMU’s X’change design showcase.
